Faith Hunter, E-RYT 500
Co-founder/Co-director

Faith lives and infuses her life with the devotion of yoga, creativity and love. Born to share the practice, Faith is an inspirational and passionate instructor that divinely captures the mystical essence of yoga, and translates the awareness of breath and movement into a powerful healing experience. Committed to living a life of soulful freedom, Faith creates a playful, safe and joyous learning environment where students can explore divine flow and connect to their own life. Faith integrates the teachings of prana (life force), the self-discovery of asana, and the transformation of finding truth and beauty in all aspects of your life. Her goal is to inspire and be inspired by the possibilities that life has to offer.

She began exploring yoga back in the early 90s as a way to connect with a higher being while her brother Michael was  transitioning from a human to a spiritual form. During that time, she discovered that yoga like dance allowed her to fully connect with her deeper self. With the name Faith, she has been able to fully embody the spiritual practice, and discover  that her path is to share the beauty of life with the world. In her quest to share her passions and eclectic yoga teaching  style, Faith incorporates her southern upbringing with yoga philosophy, modern mystical sounds, and the purity of breath.  Her approach is devotional, fun, and informative, and it plays with the balance between fluid asana and stillness, form  and formless, gravity and lightness.

Faith is an experienced-registered yoga instructor (E-RYT 500) whose subtle connections in the body, breath, and spiritual  symbolism draw you deeper towards   the experience of freedom in the asana and passion for life. She has studied with numerous instructors over the past 17 years, she is registered with Yoga Alliance, and she received her formal 200-hour certification from Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in New York City and has completed a 500-hour yoga teacher certfication at Charm City Yoga. In addition, Faith is a Thai massage therapist, ayurvedic practitioner, writer, yoga podcaster, and co-owner/co-founder of SHAKTI MindBody Studio and the Director of the Shakti Yoga Teacher Training  Program.

Faith also has a BS degree in Marketing/Communications from Grambling State University and a MBA from Loyola University-New Orleans. Over the past 12 years, she has also worked as a private business consultant and trainer/facilitator for numerous nonprofit and for-profit organizations, worked as the Director of Technical Assistance for the National Minority AIDS Council, Deputy Director for the Harlem Directors Group, and currently serves as a fund development consultant and program developer of FitFactor (online fitness/nutrition project funded by CDC) for the Hemophilia Federation of America. Based in Washington, DC, Faith leads yoga immersions, teacher trainings, retreats, and workshops. She also makes time in her schedule to spend quality time with her family and friends, and taking walks with sweet dogs Sebastian and Yoshi Ma.

As Faith continues to learn, explore and share the practice, she is a constant student of ayurveda, tantra, bhakti, and spiritual awakening. Her message to the world is "liberate your soul, live life to the fullest, and embrace life with passion!"
